Review: Popsugar Must Have Box December 2014

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Popsugar Must Have Review for you! I was super excited about this box and couldn't wait for it to get here! I saw some spoilers and knew I had to get it!

What is it: Popsugar is a monthly subscription box service that delivers "must-have" items ranging from fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, food, and much, much more. There are full sized and premium items that all add up to over $100 worth of products!

Cost and Shipping: $39.95 a month for people who live in the US. (My dad got this box for me and used a coupon code to get the box for only $21!)

December's box was inspired by cheers, party ready, indulgence, holiday treats, sparkle and glamour!

Here is what was in the box!
SPUN By Subtle Luxury Speckled Metallic Scarf ($62): I love this scarf, it is so pretty and soft! I've been getting more into accessories recently and I need some scarves, so I'm happy that this scarf came in this box!

Sparklepop Sydney Necklace ($42): I don't wear necklaces often, but I do really like this necklace. I've never owned anything like it! It is super long and the little crystal is really pretty. It falls to about my belly button if I leave it how it is.

Smashbox Be Legendary Long-wear Lip Lacquer in Bordeaux ($24): With all the makeup I have, I surprisingly don't own any Smashbox products! I am happy I got this product and I think this is going to be my go to lip product for winter! The color is perfect for winter!

Canvas Dauville Platinum Bowl ($29): I do not think this bowl is worth $29, but I really do like it. I am currently using this as a little jewelry dish! I don't know if it'll stay that way, but we'll see if I change my mind.

Williams-Sonoma Cupcake Mix in Vanilla Bean ($15): I have quite the sweet tooth, so getting a cupcake mix in this box made me super excited! I'm going to make these next week with the cookie mis I got in my Birchbox Home Sweet Homespun box!

Knot & Bow Parcel Tags ($4): This is the only product in the box that didn't excite me at all. I kind of think this is a waste since I don't use gift tags. I'm probably going to give these to my mom since she'll get more use out of them than me.

The total value of December's Popsugar Box is $176! That is crazy considering my dad got this box for me for only $21! I think this box is well worth the price and I think everyone should get this month's box! I absolutely love all of the products, minus the gift tags!
What do you guys think of this months box? Let me know!

Review: Birchbox November 2014

Saturday, November 29, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Birchbox review for you! I hope you all enjoy!

What is it: Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that delivers 4-6 beauty samples to your door every month. There is a women's and men's box available. You also get points in their rewards program for reviewing items that you got in your box .

Cost and shipping: $10 a month for those of you who live in America. There is also Birchbox France, UK, and Spain for those of you who live in those areas.

This month, Birchbox's theme was giving and if you took a photo of your box with the hashtag #shaRED and posted it on social media, Birchbox would donate $1 to help fight AIDS.

This is what was in my November Birchbox!

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo(.75 oz- $8): I've been wanting to get some dry shampoo recently, so this was a good thing to see in my box! I love the packaging that it came in and it's a pretty decently sized sample. I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of use out of this product!

Gilchrist & Coames Spa Therapy Body Lotion (1oz-$1.86): At first, I wasn't so fond of getting lotion in my subscription boxes. In fact, I hated it. But now that the weather is getting colder and my hands are getting drier, I'm really glad I've been getting lotion samples. This lotion smells really good and it isn't too oily either! I like it quite a lot!

derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Cleanser(~1oz-$2.58): This is the one product that can NEVER disappoint me in subscription boxes. I love changing up my skincare routine and I use quite a lot of the product when I use face washes, so it's quite nice to have extra face washes laying around for when I run out. This face wash is gentle and leaves my skin feeling soft!

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain in Heartthrob($10): If there's one thing I don't need, it's lip products. I have so many at home and at school that I do not ever use. This is quite a tiny sample, so I don't know how many uses i'm going to get out of it. This also goes on more pink than red on your lips. It's okay.

Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Satin Taupe (FULL SIZE- $5): I love the color of this eye stick, it is a perfect nude color! I use this under my eyeshadow as a base and it is just lovely. I love that it is a full size instead of a tiny eyeliner that won't get many uses. This twists up, so there is a lot more product than what you can see. I love it!

Bonus item- Blood Orange Caramel Chocolate: I hated this chocolate. I did not think it was good. At all. It would've tasted better if it didn't have the orange in it. This was such a disappointment because I love chocolate. I have quite the sweet tooth.

The total value of the box this month is $27.44. I loved everything in this months box, except for the chocolate, and I can't wait to use the dry shampoo! I love Birchbox and I honestly think it is my favorite subscription box. The value is great and you get more than what you pay for! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to start getting into a beauty subscription boxes!
What do you guys think of this months box?
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Review: Glossybox October 2014

Sunday, November 23, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have an October Glossybox review for you! It's pretty late since something went wrong with my original package and they had to ship me a new one. It didn't get here until last week, so I apologize for that!

What it is: Glossy box is a monthly subscription box that sends 5-6 high end deluxe beauty samples to your door once every month!
Cost and shipping: Glossybox costs $21 a month and ships to the United States. Glossybox ships via USPS and usually ships during the third and fourth week of the month.

These are the items that were inside of my October Glossybox!

Nails INC. Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat (FULL SIZE- $10): I don't paint my nails that often, so I don't have a need for this product. I passed this along to my little sister, who was quite happy to get a new top coat.

Vince Camuto Amore Eau De Parfum (.25 oz- $5.75): I absolutely love getting perfume samples! I have quite a collection of perfumes and I'm glad to add this one to my collection. It smells amazing and I'll be wearing this quite often. I also love the packaging that it came in! I'm bad at describing scents, so I'll just list what the website says about this perfume:
"Fall head over heels for the alluring limited-edition Amore fragrance from Vince Camuto. Our newest scent is inspired by undying passion and romance. Be the woman you wish in this sweet and tantalizing perfume. Fruity top notes mix with the organic smell of freshly picked flowers. A divine base of comforting cashmere, rich, sensual amber and earthy sandalwood warm up the intoxicating combination."

Tarte Power Pigment in Flush (FULL SIZE- $24): I love my Tarte foundation and I've been wanting to try out more Tarte products, but I just haven't had the money to purchase anymore. I've been getting more into lip products recently, so I'm happy to get this in my box. I got it in Flush, which is a pinky purple color. I love it and will definitely be wearing this  when spring comes around. (I feel it's a more springy color)

Proganix Repair Reparative Oil + Anti-Breakage (FULL SIZE- $11.99): Since I cut my hair, I've been way more into hair care and making sure my hair is as healthy as it can be. My hair is super prone to damage, so I'm glad I got the reparative oil over the other ones you could've gotten in this box. This makes my hair super soft and it smells good too!

Sesha Cell-White Brightening Mask (FULL SIZE- $9): I just used this mask last night, and it made my face feel super soft and smooth after using it. It says on the info card that it should show immediate improvement in tone and texture, but I didn't notice anything. It was a nice mask though.

Bonus Items: Alex and Ani Bracelet ($38): I used the coupon code ALEXANI to get this bracelet for free in my box. I believe the code is still available to use and I highly recommend using it! I love this bracelet! It is super cute and it's worth more than the cost of the box! I'll be wearing this quite often!

The total value of this box is $98.74! That is four times more than what I paid for the box! I love Glossybox, they never disappoint me and you always get more than what the box costs! They also have been having a lot of coupons recently to get extras in your box. I highly recommend Glossybox, although do note that shipping usually takes a while!
What do you guys think of October's box? Let me know!
I hope you all had a great weekend!

Monthly Favorites: October 2014

Sunday, November 2, 2014

Hello everyone!
Today, I have my monthly favorites for the month of October for you! I rediscovered a product that I really love and discovered some new favorites for this month.
So, without further ado, here are my October favorites!

Fujifilm INSTAX Mini 8 Instant Film Camera: This was an extremely early birthday present from my dad. I love it so much! I carry it around everywhere with me. I'm surprised I haven't used up all of my film yet, but that's a plus since I can still take photos if I want to! I highly recommend getting one if you are looking for a Polaroid camera.
Tilo Scarf: I'm not lying when I say I've worn this scarf pretty much everyday since I got it! I love it so much! It is super soft and light- perfect for early fall! I've never really liked scarves until I got this one.
JF Liza Lace Up Boots: These boots are perfect for fall! I got them on sale for $16 back in the beginning of this month! I've been wearing these everyday, just like my scarf. They are just super cute, I can't help but wear them a lot!
Britney Spears Fantasy Twist Perfume: I got this perfume about a week and a half ago, but I'm putting it in my October favorites. It smells so freaking good! I really like the Fantasy side of it more than the Midnight Fantasy, but they both smell pretty good!
Selena Gomez Perfume: I forgot how much I liked this perfume until my little sister used some of it back in the beginning of the month. I've had this perfume for about a year now and I've found a new love for it again thanks to my sister. I'm terrible at describing scents, but I know what smells good to me and what doesn't! Hah.
Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Supreme Mascara: I got this in one of my Birchboxes and I absolutely love it! Recently, my usual mascara has been hurting my eyes and eyelashes? I don't know it's weird to describe, but I don't like it. With this mascara though, it doesn't hurt! I love how smoothly it goes on and how it doesn't leave clumps! My new favorite mascara! Definitely need to get the full size!
The Hunt: I am seriously addicted to this app. I swear whenever I'm on my phone, I'm on this app. This app helps you find items that you see on Instagram and Tumblr that you really love. All you have to do is take a screenshot of the photo, post it on the app asking for help, and wait to see if someone can find that item for you! It is the greatest thing!

That's all of my favorites I have for this month. What have you guys enjoyed this month? Did you guys discover anything new? Let me know!
I hope you all enjoyed!

Ciao,
Heather

Halloween Snapshots

Saturday, November 1, 2014

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! This is just going to be a short little blog post since there isn't much to say! I had a great Halloween! My boyfriend and I dressed up as Cosmo and Wanda (as you can see) and we went to a Halloween party last night. Everyone loved our costumes and thought we did a great job with them. I guess you could say our costumes were a hit! Yay!
What were you for Halloween, if you dressed up, and what did you do last night?
I hope you all have a great day!

Review: Birchbox + Laggies October 2014

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Birchbox review for you! I hope you all enjoy!

What is it: Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that delivers 4-6 beauty samples to your door every month. There is a women's and men's box available. You also get points in their rewards program for reviewing items that you got in your box .

Cost and shipping: $10 a month for those of you who live in America. There is also Birchbox France, UK, and Spain for those of you who live in those areas.

This month they had a collaboration box with Laggies, so I opted in for the Laggies box instead of a regular subscription. I saw what was in the box and liked it. (I don't like surprises all that much.)

First look inside the box.
Here is what was inside of the Laggies + Birchbox October box!

ModelCo Powerlash High Impact Black Mascara (.17oz- $10.00): I definitely don't like this mascara as much as I like the Laura Mercier one that came in my Fashionista + Birchbox box. I feel like it's too.. Liquidy? I guess that's the best word I can think of. It also clumps my lashes together and it kind of makes my lashes feel heavier. I probably won't be using this mascara as much as I use my others.

Vasanti Cosmetics Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (20g- $6.00): I've mentioned this before, but I'm going to say it again. I LOVE getting skin care samples and I really like this cleanser! It isn't too harsh and it leaves my skin feeling super soft! I love it!

TOCCA Crema da Mano in Bianca (1 oz- $5.00): This lotion smells really good! It does leave my skin feeling super soft and it's not too greasy, but I don't know if I like it more than my Bath and Body Works lotion. I am going to keep using this though since my skin is really dry right now and I want to give it a shot!

Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle (~1oz- $2.74): Oh my God does this smell amazing! I'm absolutely in love with the scent! It warns you on the information card that the scent is addictive, and I totally agree! This also makes your hair super soft and easy to brush through after using. I love it!

Sage + Fasten Eau de Parfum in Onward (4ml- $4.00): This is the only thing in this box that I'd say I absolutely HATE. I hate the scent. Hate. Hate. Hate it. At first I thought I didn't like it since it did leak a little in the box and that was all the box smelt like when I opened it. But nope. It smells just as bad to me when I put it on. The one good thing about this is that it's a rollerball instead of the typical mini sprays they give you. I'm definitely going to pass this on to my little sister since she said she likes it. Yuck.

The total value of this box, according to my calculations, is $27.74! The value of the box is quite good considering I only paid $10 for it! I also liked everything in the box except for the perfume. (Eww.) I'd say I'm pretty happy with this box and Birchbox keeps impressing me each time I order a new box! I recommend you guys check out Birchbox if you haven't already! It's my favorite subscription box at the moment!

What do you guys think of this box? Or if you just got the regular subscription, what do you guys think about that box?
I hope you all have a great day!

Ciao,
Heather

Review: Popsugar Must Have Box September 2014

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Popsugar Must Have Review for you! It came pretty late- I believe it came on Wednesday of this week- so I'm sorry for the delay!

(I used a coupon code to get my box for only $24.95)

First look inside the box.
Second look inside the box.
I was pretty excited for this box and I'm glad it's finally here! It took about a week to get to me.
The September box was inspired by "autumn leaves, long walks, new tunes, back to school, fashion week, and football."

Here is what was inside!

Tilo Scarf in Rasin ($125): This was the big item in the box this month. I would NEVER pay $125 dollars for a scarf, but I sure would pay $24.95 for a scarf worth $125! Price aside, I really do love this scarf! It is very unique and it's even hand dyed!  It is super soft, cute, and I love the colors in it.  It is the perfect scarf for fall! I will definitely be wearing this a lot this fall!

Nicole Miller Stereo Earbuds ($20): I've needed some new headphones for a while now, so I'm super excited to see that this box came with some! They don't feel like they cost $20 though, but that's just me. The quality is pretty good and they don't hurt my ears too much. I now have headphones I can use while I'm working out guys. Yay!

Oribe Superfine Purse Size Hair Spray ($21.50): I don't usually use hair spray that often. In fact, I'm not a huge fan of hair spray. So I may just give this to my mom or little sister.

Rifle Paper Co. Garance DorĂ© Assorted Girls Set ($18): These are quite interesting little cards. I have no idea what I'd use them for, but I'm sure I can figure something out. Maybe I'll just hang them on my wall. Who knows!

Letter C Design Gold Foil Arrow Pencils ($5): I'm not much of a pencil person and I wouldn't spend $5 on some fancy pencils. However, I do like these pencils. They are pretty nice and you can never have too many pencils- especially if you are a College student like I am. So these will get used but probably not repurchased in the future.

Urban Remedy Almond Brownie + $10 off $50 coupon ($6): I'm quite upset about this brownie, and even more upset that Popsugar would send people and expired food product in their box. I've heard that many people got this expired brownie and aren't too happy with them or customer support. I will try and contact them to see what can be done. However, I heard the brownie wasn't that good to begin with, so I guess that's a plus.

Special Extras:

Nike $20 Gift Card: I don't usually buy anything from Nike, but since I've been getting into working out lately I think this would come in handy! This little packet was used to advertise Nike's new Pro bra line and I believe it was used to get you to buy one, but I already have my eyes on these pair of walking shoes. They are pretty pricey, so getting twenty dollars off will totally help out some! Super excited!

Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Sea Salt & Almond Minis ($5.95): I have kind of a love hate relationship with these chocolates. There are times where I am eating them that I absolutely love them and think they are delicious, and then there are times where I think they aren't all that great. I don't know, I'm weird. I'd say over all, I like them.

The total value of September's box that I came up with is $221.45! That is crazy considering I only paid $24.95 for this box! I really did love everything in this box, minus the brownie that I had to throw away since it was expired. I am pretty disappointed about the brownie and how badly they are handling things right now, but I do think they are a great subscription service. I will resubscribe in the future when they get everything all sorted out, because I do think you get way more than what you pay for!
What do you guys think of this month's box? Please let me know!
I hope you all enjoyed!

Ciao,
Heather
