Review: Birchbox + Laggies October 2014

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Birchbox review for you! I hope you all enjoy!

What is it: Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that delivers 4-6 beauty samples to your door every month. There is a women's and men's box available. You also get points in their rewards program for reviewing items that you got in your box .

Cost and shipping: $10 a month for those of you who live in America. There is also Birchbox France, UK, and Spain for those of you who live in those areas.

This month they had a collaboration box with Laggies, so I opted in for the Laggies box instead of a regular subscription. I saw what was in the box and liked it. (I don't like surprises all that much.)

First look inside the box.
Here is what was inside of the Laggies + Birchbox October box!

ModelCo Powerlash High Impact Black Mascara (.17oz- $10.00): I definitely don't like this mascara as much as I like the Laura Mercier one that came in my Fashionista + Birchbox box. I feel like it's too.. Liquidy? I guess that's the best word I can think of. It also clumps my lashes together and it kind of makes my lashes feel heavier. I probably won't be using this mascara as much as I use my others.

Vasanti Cosmetics Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (20g- $6.00): I've mentioned this before, but I'm going to say it again. I LOVE getting skin care samples and I really like this cleanser! It isn't too harsh and it leaves my skin feeling super soft! I love it!

TOCCA Crema da Mano in Bianca (1 oz- $5.00): This lotion smells really good! It does leave my skin feeling super soft and it's not too greasy, but I don't know if I like it more than my Bath and Body Works lotion. I am going to keep using this though since my skin is really dry right now and I want to give it a shot!

Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle (~1oz- $2.74): Oh my God does this smell amazing! I'm absolutely in love with the scent! It warns you on the information card that the scent is addictive, and I totally agree! This also makes your hair super soft and easy to brush through after using. I love it!

Sage + Fasten Eau de Parfum in Onward (4ml- $4.00): This is the only thing in this box that I'd say I absolutely HATE. I hate the scent. Hate. Hate. Hate it. At first I thought I didn't like it since it did leak a little in the box and that was all the box smelt like when I opened it. But nope. It smells just as bad to me when I put it on. The one good thing about this is that it's a rollerball instead of the typical mini sprays they give you. I'm definitely going to pass this on to my little sister since she said she likes it. Yuck.

The total value of this box, according to my calculations, is $27.74! The value of the box is quite good considering I only paid $10 for it! I also liked everything in the box except for the perfume. (Eww.) I'd say I'm pretty happy with this box and Birchbox keeps impressing me each time I order a new box! I recommend you guys check out Birchbox if you haven't already! It's my favorite subscription box at the moment!

What do you guys think of this box? Or if you just got the regular subscription, what do you guys think about that box?
I hope you all have a great day!

Ciao,
Heather

Review: Popsugar Must Have Box September 2014

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Popsugar Must Have Review for you! It came pretty late- I believe it came on Wednesday of this week- so I'm sorry for the delay!

What is it: Popsugar is a monthly subscription box service that delivers "must-have" items ranging from fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, food, and much, much more. There are full sized and premium items that all add up to over $100 worth of products!

Cost and Shipping: $39.95 a month for people who live in the US. (I used a coupon code to get my box for only $24.95)

First look inside the box.
Second look inside the box.
I was pretty excited for this box and I'm glad it's finally here! It took about a week to get to me.
The September box was inspired by "autumn leaves, long walks, new tunes, back to school, fashion week, and football."

Here is what was inside!

Tilo Scarf in Rasin ($125): This was the big item in the box this month. I would NEVER pay $125 dollars for a scarf, but I sure would pay $24.95 for a scarf worth $125! Price aside, I really do love this scarf! It is very unique and it's even hand dyed!  It is super soft, cute, and I love the colors in it.  It is the perfect scarf for fall! I will definitely be wearing this a lot this fall!

Nicole Miller Stereo Earbuds ($20): I've needed some new headphones for a while now, so I'm super excited to see that this box came with some! They don't feel like they cost $20 though, but that's just me. The quality is pretty good and they don't hurt my ears too much. I now have headphones I can use while I'm working out guys. Yay!

Oribe Superfine Purse Size Hair Spray ($21.50): I don't usually use hair spray that often. In fact, I'm not a huge fan of hair spray. So I may just give this to my mom or little sister.

Rifle Paper Co. Garance DorĂ© Assorted Girls Set ($18): These are quite interesting little cards. I have no idea what I'd use them for, but I'm sure I can figure something out. Maybe I'll just hang them on my wall. Who knows!

Letter C Design Gold Foil Arrow Pencils ($5): I'm not much of a pencil person and I wouldn't spend $5 on some fancy pencils. However, I do like these pencils. They are pretty nice and you can never have too many pencils- especially if you are a College student like I am. So these will get used but probably not repurchased in the future.

Urban Remedy Almond Brownie + $10 off $50 coupon ($6): I'm quite upset about this brownie, and even more upset that Popsugar would send people and expired food product in their box. I've heard that many people got this expired brownie and aren't too happy with them or customer support. I will try and contact them to see what can be done. However, I heard the brownie wasn't that good to begin with, so I guess that's a plus.

Special Extras:

Nike $20 Gift Card: I don't usually buy anything from Nike, but since I've been getting into working out lately I think this would come in handy! This little packet was used to advertise Nike's new Pro bra line and I believe it was used to get you to buy one, but I already have my eyes on these pair of walking shoes. They are pretty pricey, so getting twenty dollars off will totally help out some! Super excited!

Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Sea Salt & Almond Minis ($5.95): I have kind of a love hate relationship with these chocolates. There are times where I am eating them that I absolutely love them and think they are delicious, and then there are times where I think they aren't all that great. I don't know, I'm weird. I'd say over all, I like them.

The total value of September's box that I came up with is $221.45! That is crazy considering I only paid $24.95 for this box! I really did love everything in this box, minus the brownie that I had to throw away since it was expired. I am pretty disappointed about the brownie and how badly they are handling things right now, but I do think they are a great subscription service. I will resubscribe in the future when they get everything all sorted out, because I do think you get way more than what you pay for!
What do you guys think of this month's box? Please let me know!
I hope you all enjoyed!

Ciao,
Heather

Review: Birchbox + Fashionista September 2014

Thursday, October 9, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Birchbox review for you! I'm a little late with posting this review, thanks to school projects being due at the same time, so I hope you don't mind! I'm going to have more reviews coming this week and next week!

This month I opted in for the collaboration box that they had with Fashionista. (mainly because I seen what was inside of it and liked what I saw.)

This is what was inside my box:

Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Supreme Mascara (.2 oz- $14.25): I've been wanting to try more Laura Mercier products (I have a foundation currently and I love it) and I love getting mascara samples! Mascaras are my favorite samples because I don't like sticking to the same kind day in and day out. I really like this mascara! It goes on nicely and doesn't leave any clumps. It also doesn't flake throughout the day, which is awesome! I'm definitely going to invest in the full size of this when I have the money!

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Silver Eyeliner (.03 oz- $12.00): I've been wanting to get a silver eyeliner for quite a while now, so this is a great thing for me! I absolutely love it! I've been wearing this almost every day since getting my box! I just wish it were bigger and lasted longer than it does. This is definitely another product that I'll buy the full size of when I have the money!

dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner (.25 oz- $11.00): I love trying new skin care products, however I haven't tried this one out yet. I like how it came with a seal on it so the product didn't get all over the inside of the cap! Also, it smells pretty good and I've heard great things about it, so maybe I'll give it a shot tonight!

Naobay Body Radiance Lotion (1.01 oz- $2.85): This product is kind of an eh to me. I don't use lotion that much and if I do, it's always my Bath and Body Works one. It smells good and isn't greasy, however I'd rather stick to my Bath and Body Works.

Macadamia Professional Flawless Cleansing Conditioner (3 oz- $12.38): I've been getting more into hair care since I cut my hair. I want to keep my hair healthier than it was before and I want to try and help speed up the growing process. (I miss my long hair) I've heard a lot of good things about Macadamia Oil, so I'm super excited to use this! Oh, and this is also the biggest sample I've ever gotten from any subscription, especially Birchbox, so I'm quite impressed!

The total I came up with for this box is about $52.48! I'm quite impressed with the value of this box since I only payed ten dollars for it! I loved pretty much everything in this box and I'm super excited to try the things I have not tried out yet. I'll definitely get more of these boxes in the future, especially since it seems like birchbox has been stepping up their game recently!
What do you guys think about this box, or any of the boxes recently?
I hope you all enjoyed!

Ciao,
Heather
