Review: Bergdorf Goodman Glossybox May 2014

Saturday, June 7, 2014

Hello everyone! I have a lovely review for you guys today, and this time it's for Glossybox!

A little peek inside the box.
What is it: Glossy box is a monthly subscription box that sends 5-6 high end deluxe beauty samples to your door once every month!

An even better peek inside the box!
Cost and shipping: Glossybox costs $21 a month and ships to the United States. Glossybox ships via USPS and usually ships during the third week of the month. Mine took only two days to get to me! Yay!

This month, Glossybox teamed up with Bergdorf Goodman and created this wonderful box! I'm super excited about this box! It's my first box, and I can't wait to get more !(once I get a job and have more income coming in!)

And these are the products that I got in my box!

Lancer Eye Contour Lift Cream (Sample Size: .15oz- $55): This eye cream is used to diminish lines and dark circles under your eyes, which I do not have. However, my sister does. So this little fellow might go to my sister, especially since I got two eye creams in this box. The full sized product is .5oz and sales for $95.

Atelier Cologne: Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolute (Sample Size: 7ml- $20): I'm not a huge fan of this cologne. It's really strong, and it doesn't really smell like roses to me. It does start smelling OK when it wears off, but I'm still not a huge fan of it. I'm going to try and get used to this cologne and use all of it since I don't know of anyone who would like it. The full size product can be bought as a 3.3oz or a 6.7oz bottle and sales for $140/$200.

Révive Intensité Volumizing Eye Serum (Sample Size: .1oz- $70): Oh.My.Goodness. The price of this serum makes me want to try this out right away. Like I said earlier, I'm not an eye cream type of person. But if just a sample size of this is worth 70 bucks, I'm definitely going to see if this thing works wonders. It better work wonders! The full size product is .5oz and sales for $350.

Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer (Sample Size: .5oz- $13.50): I like this primer. It goes on smoothly and keeps my makeup looking fantastic all day! My makeup goes over this primer so easily and it doesn't crease at all! I will definitely purchase the full sized product when I get more money! The full sized product is 1.7oz and sales for $45.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream (Sample size: .85oz- $8.50): I haven't tried this product out yet, but I'm super excited to! I've never used a CC cream for my hair before, but I've wanted to for a while! This product says that it has ten benefits in this one bottle, which are: moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection, and light hold. I hope this stuff keeps it's promises, cause my hair needs all of what it says! The full size product is 2.5oz and sales for $25.

Iluminage Skin Prep Gentle Cleanser (Sample size: .5oz- $7.00): I like this cleanser! It smells nice and it's super gentle on your skin! It left my skin feeling clean and soft! I haven't used it that much to say if it's helped with breakout or not, but I definitely enjoy using it! The full size product is 5oz and is $25.

On top of all the products that came in the box, the box also came with a $25 gift card! Which I spent within two days of having the box. I can smell a review of that product coming very soon!
Overall, I really love this box. And it's totally worth the money! The total value of the box, not including the gift card, is $174!! I would definitely recommend this box to friends and family. And I'd totally keep my subscription if I could. Don't worry Glossybox! I'll be back for some more of your lovely boxes!

Did any of you get May's Glossybox? If so, which products did you get in yours? I'd love to know what you thought about it!
I hope you all have an amazing day!

Ciao,
Heather

Favorite Photo Of The Week #4

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

Hello everyone!
I decided to do my favorite photo of the week post today since 1.) I haven't done one in a while and 2.) I haven't posted anything for about...Two weeks.
I took this photo about two weeks before I left College to come back home for the summer. I really miss it there, shockingly. I was really glad to come home for the summer, but since I've been home for a month now, I've realized how much I love it at school. (When there is no homework of course. Hah.)
Life at home has been pretty tough recently, which is taking a toll on blog posts and all that jazz. So I'm sorry about that!
I'm trying to get back into my blogging routine, and I do have a review, that I've been slacking on, that will hopefully be up sometime this week! I'll give you guys a hint.. It's a subscription box review!
I hope you guys have a wonderful day!

Ciao,
Heather

Review: Birchbox May 2014

Thursday, May 22, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have a Birchbox review for you!

What is it: Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that delivers 4-6 beauty samples to your door every month. There is a women's and men's box available. You also get points in their rewards program for reviewing items that you got in your box

Cost and shipping: $10 a month for those of you who live in America. There is also Birchbox France, UK, and Spain for those of you who live in those areas.

This month's theme for Birchbox was Freewheeling and it came with 6 samples and a special offer from Kate Spade Saturday. These are the samples that I got in my box this month!
A look inside the box (already took out all the tissue paper and whatnot)
Number 4 High Performance Hair Care: Shampoo (Sample size: 1oz. ~$4.00): This is pretty small and probably will only get one use out of it since I have a lot of hair. However, it does smell pretty good and it's volumizing too! I'm excited to use this, but I probably won't buy the full size product since it costs $34.

Number 4 High Performance Hair Care: Conditioner (Sample Size: .25oz. ~$1.00): I don't think this is enough conditioner for me to get even one use out of, which is quite disappointing. It is volumizing just like the shampoo and costs $36 for the full size product.

Whish Shaving Cream- Acai Grapefruit (Sample Size: .75oz. ~$2.00): I'm actually quite excited about this product! I always use shaving cream whenever I shave since soap just irritates my skin. I'm hoping this isn't irritating and will not give me as many shave bumps! It smells delightful and the full size product costs $20. However, I think I'll only get one use out of this.

CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40 (Sample Size: .07oz. ~$0.00-my opinion): I'm very disappointed with this sample. It is way to small and I don't think I'll even get a full use out of it. This sample is a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen in it that blends into your skin tone. Very, very disappointed in the size of this. The full size product costs $20.

Smarty Pants All-in-one Gummy Vitamins for Adults (2 gummies ~$0.33): I already tried these, if you guys couldn't tell, and they were quite delicious. I got a yellow and orange one to try. The yellow one left a weird after taste, and I gave my sister the other to try so I don't know if it had a weird aftertaste. The full size product is a 30 day supply and costs $30.

LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil (FULL SIZE: $18.00): I like this pencil, but I wish it was in the pinky colors that they have. I'm probably not going to wear this that much since I'm not a HUGE fan of purple lips. It also feels weird on your lips (kind of like cold air is constantly blowing on your lips.) However, it is a full sized product and it has a minty smell that I enjoy (might explain the cold feeling.)
Here is the pencil swatched on my hand:

And lastly, we have the Kate Spade Saturday offer, which I will not show the code since I may use it. It is a code to get $25 off of a $75 purchase and is valid until July 1st.

The total value of my box (according to my calculations and opinions) is about $25.33.
Overall, I think this box was OKAY. I wish I got a different color in the Lip Lube Pencil and I wish that both the conditioner and tinted moisturizer (ESPECIALLY THE TINTED MOISTURIZER) were bigger sizes. I'm probably only going to get one use out of most of these products, which is to be expected with this box. However, I did cancel my subscription. These samples are just too small and I like getting more than one use out of products that I try out.
Do any of you subscribe to Birchbox? Which box did you get? Did you like it?

I hope you all have a great day!

Ciao,
Heather

Life Update

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Hello everyone, long time no talk!
I'm finally finished with my freshman year of college! And by finally finished, I mean I've been done since last Friday, but I haven't had time to post anything. I apologize for my absence. I was hit with a lot of projects-group speeches/projects and printing out my final photos for my photography project- at the end of the semester. Then of course there were exams that I had to try and study for (kind of failed at this) and then moving back home for the summer and putting everything away. My room still isn't even halfway done being cleaned. Ooops. I'll get there eventually.
Anyways, I have a lot of exciting things coming up in the summer and a lot of blog post ideas. As many of you know, I'm a Photo-Illustration major and I will jump at any opportunity I get to take photos. Well, thanks to my older sister and her friend, I have a lot of photo-shoots to do over the summer. They are friends with people that are trying to form a band, and they want me to take their photos! I've already done a photo-shoot with one of the members in the band, and I have two more (as of now) to take this month with the rest of them! They also want me to go to one of their concerts to take photos! My sister's friend also has another friend that saw my photos and wants me to take their photos as well! I'm super excited! I can't wait to do all these photo-shoots!
Aside from photo-shoots, I've also subscribed to some subscription boxes and I've just been shopping around like crazy. So I'm going to do reviews on the boxes and maybe even some hauls of the things I've been buying recently.
I'm probably not going to go on any vacations during the summer, so it's not going to be SUPER exciting, but hey, it's exciting enough to me!
I hope you all have an awesome day!
Ciao,
Heather
